Your Trusted Man between France and Australia!

More than a consultant: a permanent bicultural partner who understands your challenges and turns your vision into operational reality.

What It Means to Be Your "Trusted Man"

In the world of French business, a "trusted man" is not just a service provider. He is someone to whom you entrust your most strategic projects, who understands your ambitions without you needing to explain everything, and who protects your interests as if they were his own.

This is what I offer for your expansion in Western Australia.

I know the risks because I have lived them. When I arrived in Australia without an established network or local references, I encountered dishonest people who took advantage of my vulnerability. These experiences taught me where the pitfalls are, who to avoid, and how to protect those who trust me. Today, I am the trusted man I wish I had at the beginning.

Arnaud Couvreur Paris

Trust is not decreed; it is built on three unshakeable foundations that I commit to uphold in every project.

Uncompromising Honesty

I tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. If your initial strategy requires adjustments, I will explain it to you frankly with reasoned alternatives. If another Australian market is more suitable than Perth, I will make that clear to you. If a project is not viable, I will tell you before you invest unnecessarily.

This intellectual honesty protects your investment and maximises your chances of long-term success. You deserve a partner who prioritises your actual success over their short-term fees.

Operational Reliability

When I make a commitment, I keep it. The announced deadlines are respected. The promised deliverables are provided. Guaranteed availability is ensured. From the first contact to the full operationalisation of your presence in Western Australia, I remain involved and accessible to support every step of your development.

You are not a case number handed over to a junior consultant. You work directly with me, benefit from my personal network, and access twenty years of bicultural experience without filters or intermediaries.

Professional Discretion

For sensitive projects - acquisitions, strategic repositioning, confidential expansions - my status as an independent entrepreneur guarantees a level of confidentiality that a large organisation cannot match. Every piece of information shared remains strictly protected within the framework of our exclusive professional relationship.

Your project remains strictly confidential. No exposure to multiple teams. No risk of conflicts of interest. Just you, me, and the strictly necessary specialists that we choose together.

" My career has never been linear. It has always been goal-oriented: to understand how organisations and individuals succeed in different cultural and sectoral contexts, and then to help them achieve that."

My Journey

I am Arnaud Couvreur, and my journey is that of a bridge builder, between countries, cultures, industries, and above all between people and the opportunities that help them progress.

Paris, twenty years ago.I founded and led national employer organisations representing 2,450 businesses and 80,000 employees. I negotiated with five unions and ministries on working conditions, vocational training, and workplace safety. I co-created a vocational training fund (formerly OPCA) of over 100 million euros. I was a member and director in several national and European organisations including MEDEF, CNAM-TS, INRS.

This experience taught me:How to navigate complex ecosystems. How to build consensus without compromising results. How to transform divergent interests into productive partnerships.

The Turning Point

I chose Australia. Not as an escape, but as an expansion. I wanted to understand a different economic model, a different business culture, a different way of creating value.

Perth, in recent years.I have led operations in hospitality (CEO Institute Skylounge, Wild Bakery) with full P&L responsibility. I managed the financial audit of an Accor Pullman resort handling 25 million AUD in annual revenue. I owned and operated my own restaurant (Par L'Ouest). I co-founded an ERP technology company with international business development. I worked in the mining/energy sector with Profluid.

Head of Chapter, FACCI Western Australia.I have coordinated ministerial and diplomatic events, developed bilateral business initiatives, and cultivated a deep professional network within the state's economic ecosystem.

This diversity has offered me: A concrete operational understanding, not just theoretical. The ability to engage in peer-to-peer dialogue with entrepreneurs, financial directors, and operational managers. Immediate credibility with professionals across all sectors.

Today

I combine these twenty years of experience to provide what is desperately needed: a permanent bicultural partner on the ground, who intimately understands both ecosystems, who has experienced the challenges of establishment firsthand, and who transforms this expertise into operational success for your projects.

My Franco-Australian dual nationalityis not just an administrative detail. It represents an authentic dual belonging, allowing for frictionless navigation between the two worlds. I am not a French person visiting Australia, nor an Australian who speaks French - I am truly from both countries, with the unique perspective that brings.

My academic backgroundreflects my commitment to continuous learning. After my French Masters in Law and Human Resources, I completed an MBA in Tourism & Hospitality Management, and recently a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) specialising in hospitality and management. This academic rigor combined with twenty years of operational experience provides me with a unique perspective.

A Little More About Me

Why Confluence Pacific?

I created Confluence Pacific after identifying a recurring and costly problem.

The gap:French and European companies wanting to establish themselves in Australia consistently encounter the same obstacles. Not the technical challenges - those can be resolved with good lawyers and accountants. The deep cultural and operational challenges that no one really anticipates.

What I saw fail:

  • Well-funded projects that disappoint due to a misunderstanding of Australian market dynamics
  • Partnerships that collapse due to a lack of understanding of negotiation styles
  • Establishments that cost twice as much and take twice as long as expected
  • Entrepreneurs who give up, frustrated, after investing hundreds of thousands of dollars

The cause:These companies either hired firms based in Sydney/Melbourne without understanding Perth, or local consultants without deep bicultural expertise, or "experts" visiting from France who left after delivering a PowerPoint.

What was missing:A permanent bicultural partner on the ground. Someone who truly understands both worlds. Who remains involved from the first contact to operational success. Who has an already activated network, not one to build. Who speaks frankly because their reputation depends on your actual success.

My decision:To offer exactly that. Not another consulting firm. A permanent "trusted person" in Western Australia for French and European companies wanting to succeed, not just "try".

The Principles that Guide my Work

My values are not just words on a website. They guide every decision, every piece of advice, every commitment I make.

Integrity

I do what I say, even when it's difficult.
When I commit to a deadline, I honour it. When I promise a deliverable, I provide it. When I detect an issue in your strategy, I tell you immediately even if it complicates my own work. Integrity is non-negotiable - it is the foundation of any lasting trust-based relationship and the principle that guides every decision I make.

Empathy

I understand your challenges because I have experienced them.

I have founded organisations from the ground up, negotiated complex partnerships, managed P&L under pressure, and experienced professional reinvention by changing countries. And I have also faced costly mistakes. When I arrived in Australia without a network or reference points, I trusted people who did not have my best interests at heart. This lived vulnerability is now my strength.

Optimism

I believe in possibility, especially when others see obstacles.
Twenty years of turning challenges into opportunities have taught me that complex problems have solutions, obstacles can become advantages, and that smart tenacity almost always triumphs. I do not offer naive optimism but an optimism grounded in the concrete experience of what works, successful strategies, and viable paths to success.

Respect

For every culture, every person, every valid perspective.
Navigating between France and Australia for two decades has taught me that there is no "one right way" to do business: there are different ways, each with its strengths. I respect European strategic sophistication as much as Australian pragmatism, French hierarchy as much as Australian egalitarianism, your corporate values as much as the realities of the local market.

Determination

I finish what I start.
Whether it is my doctoral journey or a client implementation project, I have a constant characteristic: I do not give up until I have achieved the set goal. This determination means that your project will not be abandoned halfway, that unforeseen difficulties will be overcome, and that we will find creative solutions even when the initial path reveals its limits.

Mobility & Flexibility: Perth, Paris and Between the Two

Based in Perth, Western Australia. This is my permanent base and where my densest professional network resides. The majority of my interventions take place here.

Mobility in France and internationally.Depending on the needs of your project, I operate in France for preparation phases, coordination with your Parisian teams, or support during outbound business missions.

Dual French-Australian nationality.I travel without visa constraints, I work legally in both countries, and I have an intimate understanding of both administrative and tax systems.

This geographical flexibility means:You benefit from a partner who can be physically present where you need them - whether in Perth to activate the local network, in Paris to align your teams, or on regional trips to develop specific opportunities.

Let's Talk About Your Project

My journey has taught me one fundamental thing: the best professional relationships start with authentic conversations where each party truly understands what the other is trying to achieve.

I am not going to "sell" you my services. I will listen to your project, share my honest assessment of its feasibility, and clearly tell you if and how I can help you.

If we decide to work together, you gain a permanent bicultural partner who will treat your expansion as if it were their own. If we decide it’s not the right fit, I will direct you to the appropriate resources, because that’s how a lasting reputation is built.
